Awesome Cycling Laos 6 Days


Day 1: Luang Prabang – Almsgiving, Mount Phousi, and Pak Ou Caves (B, L / Cycle: 35 km / Accommodation: 4-star resort)

Early this morning, we will experience the timeless tradition of almsgiving in Luang Prabang. We’ll find a quiet spot roadside to observe the serene procession of orange-robed novices and monks as they collect daily offerings from the local community.
Following the procession, we will embark on a short hike to the summit of Mount Phousi, offering panoramic views of the waking town below. Afterward, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast.
Our cycling laos 6 days ‘s today takes us north of the city to the revered Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha images. This sacred site remains a vital place of worship and a significant attraction. We’ll enjoy a local-style lunch on the tranquil Pha An beach and have the opportunity for a refreshing swim in the Nam Ou river before cycling back to Luang Prabang.

Day 2: Luang Prabang – Kasi (L / Cycle: 60 km / Accommodation: Local Guesthouse)

A 2-hour minivan transfer will transport you to Kiu Kacham, situated at an altitude of 1350 meters. The initial part of your cycling journey will take you through elevations ranging from 1000 to 1400 meters, leading to Phou Khoun. From Phou Khoun, you’ll enjoy a long, scenic descent into the picturesque valley of Kasi. Overnight in Kasi.

In the afternoon, you have the option to visit Tham Xang Cave, dramatically set on the banks of the Nam Song River. Relax with a refreshing Lao beer and witness a breathtaking sunset over the mountains you’ve just traversed. If time permits, we can enjoy a refreshing dip.

Today promises a relaxed pace. After breakfast, we’ll cycle to the “Sea of Laos,” the expansive 250-square-kilometer artificial Lake Nam Ngum. A leisurely 2-hour boat ride will then take us to our lakeside hotel, where you can unwind by the poolside and enjoy a stunning sunset over the lake. Overnight in Ban Kuene.

We anticipate arriving in Vientiane by lunchtime. Your cycling tour officially concludes here, granting you the freedom to explore the vibrant capital at your leisure or proceed to your pre-booked accommodation.

Day 6: Vientiane City Tour (B, L / No Cycling)

Immerse yourself in the spiritual heart of Vientiane. Your exploration begins with essential landmarks: the unique Khmer-style cloister of Wat Sisaket, adorned with thousands of Buddha images, followed by the stately Haw Phra Kaew, the former royal temple. To truly grasp the city’s essence, you’ll visit Wat Si Muang, a pivotal site of local devotion. The morning then shifts to a crucial understanding of modern Laotian history with an essential visit to the COPE Visitor Centre, offering a powerful and unvarnished look at the country’s past, before breaking for lunch.
The afternoon focuses on the capital’s grand scale. You’ll witness the architectural and cultural significance of Pha That Luang, Laos’s definitive national symbol, resplendent in its golden splendor. Next, gain a strategic perspective by ascending the Patuxai victory monument for commanding, panoramic views over the city’s layout. Your tour culminates with a journey to the famously eccentric Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan), a surreal and fascinating sculpture garden blending Hindu and Buddhist motifs.
